Jesse & Johnna’s wedding at Aberdeen Manor in Valparaiso, Indiana was perfect in almost every way. The day was beautiful and stress-free…except for a minor car breakdown but we’ll talk about that later.

I’ve known Johnna for about 6 years now. She’s eventually going to be family, so this was a special wedding for me to shoot.

Johnna and her bridal party got ready at her house, while the groomsmen got ready at a friend’s house.

Jensen & Johnna are both bartenders together, so of course, they had a celebratory round before heading off to Aberdeen.

Once everyone was ready, the bridal party left Johnna’s house. Most of them rode in the same car. After arriving at the venue we were supposed to start bridal party photos right away. Everything seemed to be fine except one minor detail…most of Johnna’s bridesmaids were still not at the venue. Not to worry, if you know me, you know I’m one of the most “go with the flow” type of person there is. So I told her not to worry and we swapped the bridal party for the groomsmen and we were pretty much back on schedule. Besides, the guys (and gal) were just tailgating in the parking lot anyway. 🙂

So after arriving fashionably late, we moved right into bridal party photos. The photo below is Johnna’s reaction when her bridesmaid, Jensen, told her the reason they were so late was that her car broke down and they had to tow it back to Johnna’s house. The best part? They got a police escort to the wedding…as in the police officer helping them gave them all a ride in his police car to the ceremony. Nice save, officer.
